HOW TO KEEP LUNCH HOT FOR YOUR KIDS(BACK TO SCHOOL TIP)

Image
I struggled for years with keeping my kids lunch hot enough for them to eat so the food does not go bad or become too cold to eat. I have bought countless food flasks with promises of keeping the food hot for 8/12/24 hours but all were to a large extent false promises. Another challenge is that, practically speaking, schools can't possibly spend all day reheating the food of every child, therefore some schools let you know in advance to pack your kids' food in thermos that could keep the food hot for long periods of time. On the other hand some schools don't have microwaves to reheat cold food.  School would resume in a short while and I'm still thinking. .... how i would solve this problem? As usual, i did further research and found a tested method to achieve this. I have done this research to help you mothers out there to cross out one more thing from your multiple to do list. Read further on how to achieve this in 3 easy steps. USE A THERMOS . Ther...

I've been all about back to school food ideas on my instagram handle comfymamalifestyle and Facebook page comfymama blog. You may wonder why, well truth be told, I'm excited and relieved school is resuming (don't get it wrong, I love my kids a whole lot and would miss them but mama also needs some break) back to my flow of thoughts, so I also want to make going back to school fun for them through food.  For each time they open their lunch box, I want them to be excited and look forward to each day to open their lunch box and see the surprise mama gives them everyday.  For my son who is a picker eater, I want to make it easier for his teachers at mealtimes so they don't have to spend so much time persuading him to eat. With this food art idea, I guess he'll be excited to eat and I can sneak in veggies without it being so obvious.  So sit back as it were and see my picture collection of fun food art ideas(collated online to make easy for you to view in ...

HOW TO STOP BEING A MOM THAT YELLS

Image
I have been down the road of constantly yelling to get my voice heard and exercise my authority as a parent but i realised it doesn't yield much or positive results rather it led to my son being more aggressive, expressing himself less and withdrawing from me. As a parent, I feel terrible afterwards, having headaches and stressed after a yelling episode. To counteract these negative effects, I had to make a U turn to change my approach and parenting style.    So do you find yourself shouting or yelling at the top of your voice just to get your kids to listen to you?  Do you loose your cool and flip out on your kids for every mistake they make that annoys you? Would you like to stop this cycle of yelling, get your kids to listen to you without yelling? You might reason that dealing with kids and getting them to listen to you can be frustrating(i agree with you). Parenting is hard no doubt but we can make little adjustments here and there in our parenting techniq...

Image
Image courtesy clip art    B eing a mom to two toddlers ages 2 and 4 is like a roller coaster ride which kickstarts from the moment i wake up till when I can finally get some sleep at night. I'm sure most most moms can relate to this. For a stay at home mom/mompreneur like me, my typical days starts as early as 6 a.m ( when the kids are on holiday ) and 5 a.m ( when school begins ) between preparing breakfast, cleaning the house, bathing the kids, preparing the them for school, dropping them at school, preparing ahead of when they come back, sparing time for my business( production and sales of my pregnancy pillow, nursing pillows and baby wraps and blogging to share my 2 cents on motherhood ) picking them up, working on their homework together, bathing them ,squeezing in some mommy and kids time (playing hide and seek, reading together), feeding them................. Just writing down how my day pans out is making my head spin already( would love to go on and on about h...

make your diy zip book in 4 easy steps

Image
Every mum needs a bit of quiet to get some work done or simply to relax. One key to achieving this with little toddlers vying for your attention or trying to bring the house down is to give them some sort of distraction or diversion depending on what you want to term it.When kids are busy or preoccupied with an activity or object, then you can take advantage of this window of opportunity to either rest or get some pending work done. I have a number of ideas up my sleeve that I intend to execute to achieve this, one of such is the zip quiet book that was originally designed to develop fine motor skills and sensory awareness in kids ages 1-5 .It doubles as a quiet book for my kids especially my 2 year old daughter. It keeps them busy for a while till they bored and want to move on to something else. It's a learning ground to initiate skills such as dressing themselves with the use of zip effortlessly.  With the positive feedback and interest many mothers showed...
